We’ve known Filipinos for having a fair skin or what we called “Kayumanggi”.
But in this commercial it talks about how “BIOLINK” soap manufactured by
Splash Corporation change the skin color of all the family members.
The priest was shock when he saw the baby having a dark color but her
parents and all her family have a white skin color. It portray a message
that if you were born having a dark color, you don’t have to worry because
there is a soap that would help you improve your skin color as you grow old.
Although we can say that maybe, the baby’s family is really white and the baby
herself it just “Na-ipaglihi” to something else. Just like what the priest
does, he looks on “Sto. Nino” which portray a message that the skin color
of the baby can be compare to Sto. Nino. But what good about this TV
commercial is that it used the humorous appeal to target and captures the
attention of its target audience. And it shows how powerful BIOLINK soap is.
In particular it target individuals who have the same color or individuals
who wants to even enhance their skin. I myself admit that I have “Kayumanggi”
skin color but I proud of it. And it’s not something “Na-ipaglihi” but it
really runs to the blood of my family.
